Race for Open Space 2016

The Radnor Conservancy strives to find new and exciting ways to connect Radnor Township residents to the open spaces and the parks we treasure. This year, on Sunday, June 5, 2016 in honor of National Trails Day, we are hosting our sixth annual Race for Open Space. This family friendly event includes a 5K off-road trail race and 1-mile walk option on the trails of the Willows and Skunk Hollow Parks. In addition, we will host fun runs and games for children ages 4-10.  It is our hope that we can encourage the use of our trails and parks, provide a morning of fun and entertainment for families, and build on our tradition of a challenging and rewarding cross-country 5K for running and off-road enthusiasts.

The proceeds of this race will support our efforts of planting trees, multi-use trail development, educational programming, and environmental stewardship within Radnor Township. We work regularly with the Township in updating and improving Radnor’s conservation development and shade tree ordinances. We are especially proud of our role in the Big Tree Project, through which shade trees lost to age and storms are being replaced along the main corridors of the Township, in order to preserve our beautiful and environmentally crucial shade tree canopy.

Corporate sponsorship is critical to our ability to achieve these objectives, and we hope you will join us in support of our 2016 race. As a race sponsor, your company logo will be printed on the race t-shirt, you will have a listing on the sponsor board the day of the event, recognition in our fall newsletter The Conservationist and on the Radnor Conservancy website. If you have any questions please email me at ggroebel@radnorconservancy.org or Tracy Pulos, Board Member and Race Director, at 610.329.7399 or at tracy.pulos@verizon.net.
