Rain Gardens: A Hands-On Workshop
Rain gardens --  gardens that collect and hold rainwater during storms -- are an innovative, beautiful, and increasingly popular runoff control devices. Featuring plants that thrive in moist conditions, rain gardens allow runoff to filter slowly into soil, and even attract birds and butterflies.  Catherine Renzi of Yellow Springs Farm, a local native plant nursery, leads a hands-on workshop on backyard rain gardens. After an indoor presentation, we’ll go outside to talk briefly about citing a rain garden. This event is offered in partnership with the Lower Merion Conservancy. Refreshments will be served and pre-registration is required. Registration: $20/person, includes instructional materials and refreshments. 2:00 to 4:00 pm Rolling Hill Park, 1301 Rose Glen Road, Gladwyne
