Radnor Township Information

Our municipal government has supported open space acquisition and environmentally sensitive planning in a number of ways.  Learn more about the resources and policies of Radnor Township through these links:

Radnor Resources

The new Comprehensive Land Use Plan documents the historic and natural resources of Radnor Township.  Township goals for preserving these resources are enumerated as well.

Open Space Acquisition Program

Radnor Township voters approved a bond referendum in 1996 allocating $10 million for the purchase of open space within the township.  Additional funding is provided by a portion of the realty transfer tax which generates ongoing funding for Radnor’s Park Improvement and Open Space Fund.

Environmental Advisory Committee

The township’s Environmental Advisory Committee serves in an advisory capacity, providing direction to the Commissioners and other boards, applying for environmental grant money, and providing public education to Radnor residents.  The EAC also sponsors periodic park cleanup days in conjunction with the township’s Parks and Recreation Department.

Radnor’s Commitment to Renewable Energy

In the spring of 2003, the Township became the largest municipal purchaser of wind energy nationwide.
